WHAT DID JESUS SAY

WE HAD TO DO TO BE SAVED?

Repentance

Jesus taught that Repentance was more than saying " I'm Sorry." It is a life long commitment to doing the will of Jesus Christ while at the same time having a Godly sorrow for past sins.

Obedience to the Word of God is always coupled with True Repentance.

Repentance is a desire to do what pleases God, and not self.

Baptism and Immersion in Water in Conversion

Baptism is an ordinance instituted by Jesus Christ. It is a response to the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord.

It is intended for those who have repented, have faith in God, and a willingness to obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through faith in the name of Jesus and his blood.

Baptism acts as the visible sign of the remission of sins. Baptism is immersion, the dipping of the believer in water, which is essential to the proper administration of this ordinance.

The believer is always baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

Immersion in water has no virtue in itself to remit sins, but obedience to God's command and belief in His Word through Faith brings this about.

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is the promise of the Father, the promise of God to Abraham to those who seek God in complete surrender to His will and are obedient to the gospel message.

It is not optional or as some believe a second blessing, but is given to those for whom it has been prepared and those who are constantly filled with the Spirit of Christ.

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is initially evidenced by speaking in an unknown language, earthly or heavenly.
